As dried flower and floral preservation designers in Minnesota, we had to take a moment to celebrate National Floral Design Day! Flower designs come in a variety of forms. Whether they are fresh or dried, this day is to celebrate the art of floral designs and the happiness they bring to our lives! These pieces are also not limited when it comes to size, so we decided to create a teeny tiny flower arrangement in honor of this national day.
The vibe for this arrangement is intentionally wild and loose to embrace what floral designs are really about – letting loose and allowing your creativity to run wild! Let’s dive into how we created this piece.
After realizing we had a few vintage film canisters laying around for a while, we decided it was high time to put them to good use! Plus, they’re the perfect size for the mini arrangement vision to come to life. After deciding on a container, it’s time to cut the right size of floral foam to fit inside and layer moss or grass on top. This way you don’t see the foam that is holding your florals in place.
Now that the base is created, it’s time for the fun part – floral design! After gathering a variety of flowers and greens, let loose and run wild! Our arrangement has miniature roses, hydrangeas, yarrow, and a few different types of wild grasses and seed heads.
